The vanishing bills

First they screwed up the Digiturk bill so we got cut off, then it was the electricity bill which they didn't send us and now it's the water bill which has either never been sent or has vanished somewhere along the way. Whatever happened we never got the bill so couldn't pay it and we now have no water. Supposedly it's meant to be put back on today but they told us that yesterday so we're not holding our breath. Means no showers, can't do dishes and the bathroom is starting to smell really bad. Glad I can't smell at the moment. Complain to the school and the response is ''you should pay your bill'' How the Hades are we meant to pay the bill when we don't get the damn thing? Kat or kaz, you wouldn't happen to have anything to do with this would you?

The post office mission

Was a good child and posted some of the presents off today - Bec and Rob, you's will get done next week and Kaz yours will be done when you either send me your flat address or your parents new address.
So, go to the post office to send 3 presents to NZ, 1 to Taiwan and 1 to Korea. Easy right? Of course not, this is Turkey. Nothing is ever easy or logical here.
Go up to the guy who does the big packages. Of course he doesn' speak any English and originally thought everything was to go to Thailand of all places. This is despite me saying (partly in Turkish too) where they were meant to go. Eventually he got the idea that they were going to Thailand, Kenya and Israel. Israel? OK, Thailand and Taiwan, I can see how you could make that mistake, even Kenya and Korea but NZ and Israel? That I just don't get. Eventually said Yeni Zelandia which is NZ in Turkish and he got that. Took about 45 minutes with the guy getting more and more pissy when I didn't understand him. What was even dumber about the entire debacle is that there was someone who actually spoke English there! Of course the logic of getting her to translate didn't occur to them. No, much more fun for everyone involved to waste time and get grumpy because nobody understands anybody. How do I know there was an English speaker? Because ı had to go over to her to send Kat's and Van's presents.
Am now off to buy some chocolate cake - figure I need it after that mission. Plus I haven't had anything to eat today and I'm hungry.
