Christmas in Ankara

And what did I get to do? Work. Grrr. Not impressed. Did get a call from home so got to talk to mum,dad, Bec, Rob and Annie which was all good. But still, working on Xmas Day is so not fun. Didn't even get snow. Unless you count the tiny, tiny amount that started when I was leaving work at 9.30. Did get a white Boxing Day though so I suppose that's better than nothing. Actually it was a white Boxing Day morning because all the snow's gone now. The cold however hasn't gone and even though it's sunny and the middle of the afternoon it's still about -5. Not fun when you hate the cold like I do.
Am off to Cappadoica for a week on Thursday. We get a 9 day holiday for the Kurban Bayram. 9 days of no annoying E1s or E2s. Brilliant. Both my flatmates are leaving in about 3 days and some new dude arrives the day after I go to Cappadocia so will get home to a new flatmate. Joy.

Quick wee update

This'll be a really short update because a) I'm on lunch break and don't have much time and b) I don't have a hell of a lot to say.
Same old, same old here in Ankara. Had a somewht amusing last hour with my E2's. Did describinh a past holiday so divided them into pairs and gave each a country to have as their holiday destination. Among other things the Egypt group managed to get there by camel and see the pyramids without seeing the desert. Pretty impressive considering the pyramids are in the desert. Their person covered their eyes til they got to the pyramids.
Am 6 hrs into a 9 hr day. Only 3 to go and the last 30 minutes is quiz time. Don't imagine they'll be too happy with me considering they've already had 1 quiz today and they're getting another tomorrow. Not my fault we're on an intensive, 4 week program and 3 weeks through with only having 1 quiz. Couldn't do 2 last week because 2 students weren't there on Sunday and had mentals at the suggestion of doing a quiz without them.
Off to get food now.

the long awaited update

Since Kat is bitching at me to update (actually suprised it's taken her this long to start complaining, getting a bit slack dude)here it is.
Nothing is happening here in Turkey.
Have 2 classes tonight and because they've both being annoying me lately they're both getting quizzes. Hopefully this means I'll get out early as well as not having to teach for the last 30 minutes of class.
Have Bayram coming up in 2 weeks and am going to Cappadocia for 6 days. Doing a couple of tours and a horse trek - this was the main reason for going to Cappadocia. Was a choice between a hot air balloon tour and a horse trek but the balloon was too expensive and horses are better than balloons anyway.
Xmas presents will either be sent before or (more likely) after Bayram so in theory they'll arrive sometime in January.
Actually have to go teach now. Damn.
