Again, the joy, (or lack thereof, depending which way you look at it) of work. As we have a dalant market day on Saturday where the kids have to put on their cinderella play and the pop songs it meant that we were stuck at work until 10pm drawing, or in my case tracing because I can't draw to save my life, and then colouring in pictures of all the characters in the play. Irritating but tolerable until I was informed that there was not allowed to be any white whatsoever on the pictures. Why, I have no idea but no white seems to be the rule. Cinderella has green hair in one picture and in another is wearing a pink and orange dress. I'm not sure which is worse, but I'm leaning towards the pink and orange dress.
The market day should be amusing if nothing else. Each day the kids get dalents ($1 or $10 paper money) if they do their homework so Saturday we're having a dalant market where the kids can buy stuff for dalants. I suspect the main reson is that all us teachers are running out of dalants and rather than printing off a whole bunch more it's easier to have the dalant day and get all the dalants back again.

Finally managed to get links up to Kat, Kaz and Nicks blogs. And for those who go to my blog and get somewhat confused with Eris, Hera and Ares, Kat is Eris, Kaz is Hera and Nick is Ares.
Aside from the evil evil evil mozzie bites which are still driving me crazy I have nothing else to say so I might write more tomorrow if you're lucky

If I ever think of hiking again, hit me, please

If I ever even contemplate going hiking again, please hit me. Still have seriously sore legs/hips from Saturday and have so may mozzie bits that I can have a pretty good game of join the dots or make pretty random pictures on my legs. Joy.
Got to confuse classes today because the schedule has been changed and the class that I usually have on Friday I had today which was highly amusing for me when I happily informed them that they had he spelling test today rather than Friday like they were expecting and got to see them frantically trying to get last second study in.
Am highly unimpressed that my pop songs kids have to sing 2 songs at the little performance the school is putting on. Apparently they have to sing peppy songs whatever that's meant to mean, especially considering the dorector chose the songs and they're mostly Westlife, Carpenters and other oh so fun songs. So long as they don't expect me to sing I guess I can tolerate it.

I'm never going hiking again!

Mental note to self: NEVER go hiking again! Showing how unfit I am, I now have EXTREMELY sore legs and hips from yesterday. Grrr. Not only that but I also have the joy of having about a million mozzie bites all over me. That's what you get for wearing shorts in the bush.
All this proves my theory that any form of exercise is dangerous and painful and therefore should be avoided at all costs. Emails of sympathy are very welcome buy the way.
Aside from limping round everywhere for most of the day, went to Big Mart, the local mall which is about 20-30 minutes walk from my place. Depressingly enough was there for clothes shopping which I hate even more than Kat does. Managed to get 7 tops for the NZ$75. All good, especially since 6 of the 7 tops are ones I can wear for work, bonus.
1 thing i do not understand about Korean shopping logic is why on earth most shops have winter clothes for sale in the middle of summer when the temperatures are in the late 20s or up. If anyone figures this logic out let me know.
Went to Wes and Allys house for a BBQ tonight with most of the Chumdan foreigners. Korean roofs are brilliant for BBQs - flat, huge and only foreigners generally use them.

Hiking

Had the joy of going hiking today. Not exactly sure why I agreed to that but I put it down to temporary insanity, procrastination on cleaning the flat and having nothing better to do.
Fortunately, Wes and Ally are not morning people either so we didn't leave till 12.30. Wong Chei is but it was 3 vs 1 so there was no way we were leaving til lunch time at least.
Anyway, went to this mountain (no idea what it's called) and parked the car at the bottom of the hill then had to walk to where the track started. Not really so impressed with that but it cost 5000 won to park by the track so we were parking at the bottom.
This mountain has a wall running all over the place. Looks alot like the Great Wall of China actually. The wall was built in about the 16th century according to Wong Chei.
Didn't do the whole walk because it takes about 4-5 hours to do it all and Ally had blisters but did part of it. Most of it looks alot like walking tracks in NZ, which I still have no intention of ever doing, but the further we got up the more we were walking through really narrow tracks til we were walking on a tiny track with a really steep drop down 1 side. Wong Chei had this great idea that we'd walk up to this huge rock in the distance but by that time it was about 4.30 and Allys feet were dead so we came back. Got home about 6.30 or so and have done nothing since then.
Wes had a few problems with a couple of old Korean men who complained about him having his shirt off. Wes, being Wes, refused to put it on out of the principle that he hates being told to do stuff.
Tomorrow, there's a BBQ at Wes and Ally's house so will write more then

well, having stolen the idea from Kat who stole it from Tiffany have decided to create my very own blog. The thory behind this is that I'll actually update it more than I did the Korean News. Whether this theory actually works or not is another story entirely.
Had great fun setting the stupid thing up. Computers hate me, they really do.
Had the joy of work today. Good thing was because I had to interview a class for their end of unit test it meant I didn't have to teach one of my hell classes. Have no problem with that at all. Only actually had to teach 2 classes today, no problem with that either, the rest were interviews and the total waste of time pop song class I had to do for the summer vacation. Me and singing do not go together. We never have gone together and we never will go together. I can't sing to save my life and had no intention of actually singing in that class. No doubt the kids were supremely grateful for that little fact. Since they finished all the songs about a week ago, spent the last week playing the stupid CD (I never want to hear those songs again) and letting them sit there singing if they wanted to or talking. They seemed to prefer talking
In theory tomorrow am going hiking. At least will be going if it doesn't rain. Main reason I'm going? Aside from having nothing else to do and putting off cleaning my flat there are old fortifications at the top. Anything historical is all good
